Tropea is a relaxed place where students can immerse themselves in authentic Italian life. The entire old town is a pedestrian zone, and strolling through the narrow, winding streets, students feel like they are traveling back in time. In the city there are many bars, restaurants and typical ''trattorias'' where students can enjoy delicious Mediterranean dishes. Along the beach, several bathing establishments offer beach service and are also restaurants. Tropea has also made a name for itself because of its newly designed and furnished harbor. Besides the charm of the old town, Tropea has another jewel to offer: a beautifully designed and well-organized tourist port with modern facilities: a seafood restaurant, a pizzeria, a bar, a beauty salon, a small grocery store, a gym with pool and a small amphitheater. During the summer months, short plays and concerts are performed in this open-air theater. From there, students can enjoy the magical atmosphere of the harbor and the beautiful view of the old town, where the houses seem to grow out of the rock!
